A MOTORCYCLIST involved in a crash with a Ford Kuga which happened near a North-East hospital has suffered serious injuries.

The crash on Hardwick Road, adjacent to University Hospital of North Tees in Stockton, happened at around 8pm on Thursday, December 5.

Police said a Suzuki Bandit motorbike and a Ford Kuga were both involved, and that a man had been taken James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough with serious injuries.

Officers investigating said they had now launched an appeal for information to help them with their enquiries. 

A spokesperson said: "Any witnesses to the collision, anyone who may have seen the motorbike prior to the collision or anyone who may have dashcam footage of the vehicles or incident is asked to contact PC Paul Dixon from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit, on the non-emergency number 101, quoting event number 207389."

  • The rider of the motorcycle remains in a "stable" condition.
