A DENTAL practice have created their own version of a popular Christmas carol to spread festive cheer to its patients.

Staff at Middleton St George Dental Care, near Darlington, have recreated the song '12 Days of Christmas' and produced their own video to accompany it.

With lines such as 'six patients waiting' and 'a toothbrush made from a tree' the staff decided to write their own lyrics to the carol with different members recreating different scenes.

The idea for the video was a combined effort from the team, who dental nurse Katie Miller said acted as a team-building exercise as well as spreading Christmas cheer to patients.

She said: "We came up with this little dentist version of the song and thought it would be good to do a video too.

"One of the girls brought in some Christmas decorations and we just went from there.

"Each person picked their own bits to sing and it was a nice thing for everyone to get involved in."

The video, which has been posted on the practice's Facebook page, has received an overwhelming response having reached around 1,500 people and counting.

Miss Miller added: "Quite a lot of people have shared it.

"Patients have been coming in and saying they have seen the video and thought it was funny.

"It was nice to show a different side to us instead of being the usual scary dentist and have everyone come together for Christmas."
