A MAN is understood to have been stabbed with a sword outside a club hosting a UB40 tribute night.

Police were called to reports of a man with stab wounds outside Eston Labour Club on Fabian Road, Eston, Middlesbrough, just after 7.30pm last night, Saturday.

The weapon used is understood to have been a sword and the man suffered leg injuries.

The 30-year-old was taken to James Cook University Hospital for treatment.

The Labour club was hosting the UB40 tribute night at the time.
