POLICE are appealing for information after an elderly woman was robbed of her medication.
The 85-year-old had collected her prescription of 56 tablets at about 2pm from the Wells Chemist, in Langley Park on Monday, November 18.
She placed the medication in her purple raffia-style square handbag, which has brown leather straps, and made her way home.
The pensioner has walked down the Woodlands, Front Street and Wallnook Lane.
It was in Wallnook Lane where she has felt a sharp tug on her bag.
The victim turned around to see a man who has grabbed her bag and ran away in the direction of the Red Tiles service station.
The suspect has been described as white, aged between 18 and 24, with a pale complexion and wearing a grey hooded top.
Officers are now appealing for any information to help identify the culprit.
Inspector Jamie Gray said: “This has been a very distressing incident for the victim who has recently been widowed and had to bury her husband the day after this incident. We are doing everything we can to identify the suspect and want to hear from anyone who might have any information.”
If you have any information, call the police on 101 quoting incident reference number 232 of November 18.
