A FOOD delivery company has launched its services in two North-East towns.

From today, residents in Darlington and Hartlepool can use the service Deliveroo to order food from a range of restaurants and takeaways.

The list of eateries included in the delivery service will be a mix of restaurant chains, such as KFC, Bella Italia and Pizza Hut, and local businesses which Deliveroo claims will be a major boost to small restaurants across the two towns.

In Darlington, some of the businesses available on Deliveroo include Eastern Bamboo Chinese Restaurant, Sub Station and Haughton Chippy.

While in Hartlepool those involved in the service include Dilshad Tandoori, Napoli Woodfired Pizza and Gills Golden Takeaway.

On Saturday, November 30, Deliveroo will celebrate the launch by giving away free donuts in the centres of Darlington and Harlepool.

Harrison Foster, Regional Director in the UK, "Launching in Hartlepool and Darlington is a key milestone for Deliveroo.

"The towns have a thriving foodie community and a wide range of restaurants, so we’re excited to connect them.

"We look forward to working with our new restaurant partners to reach a new customer base and expand their businesses. Deliveroo will also create work for 100 local riders and are thrilled to offer a flexible role to the community.”
