A 65-YEAR-OLD woman has sustained injuries after being involved in a hit-and-run while crossing a road.
The woman, who was crossing South Parade in Northallerton in North Yorkshire, was allegedly hit by a vehicle at around 4.20pm on Monday.
At the time, the woman had been crossing from the direction of MW Darwin & Sons on South Parade towards Shine Hair and Beauty on Thirsk Road.
Police investigating said the woman was struck on her right side by a vehicle, which caused her to fall to the ground, sustaining minor injuries and requiring hospital treatment.
It is believed the vehicle then made off towards East Road and did not stop, despite being legally obliged to do so.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said it was now appealing for information from anyone who may be able to assist with police enquiries.
The spokesperson said: "North Yorkshire Police is appealing for information, anyone who may have witnessed the assault or any CCTV from local premises to help us establish the full circumstances of this incident."
