DETECTIVES are appealing for witnesses to an early morning police pursuit in which an Audi failed to stop for police before it was dumped and the occupants made off.

The pursuit began shortly after 1am on Friday, November 22 at the junction of Spencer Street and High Street, in the Eldon area of Bishop Auckland.

Police are now keen to speak to anyone who may have been in the area at the time.

Det Con Phil Collingwood, from Bishop Auckland CID, said: “We would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who was put in danger.

“I believe there were people present near the footpath walking dogs at the time.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Bishop CID on 101 quoting incident number 14 of November 22.
