A 28 YEAR-OLD man has been extradited from the Czech Republic to face charges of causing death by careless driving in North Yorkshire last year.
Officers from North Yorkshire Police travelled to Prague on Friday November 15 this year to bring Zdenek Pulko back to the UK under a European arrest warrant.
Mr Pulko was involved in a collision with motorcyclist Ian Stewart near Sherburn in Elmet on October 18, 2018. Mr Stewart was seriously injured and taken to hospital but died from his injuries the following day.
Pulko was arrested at the time by the police and released while under investigation. A warrant for his arrest was issued in June 2019.
Following his extradition and arrival in the UK, he appeared at York Magistrates’ Court and remanded in custody to appear at York Crown Court at a later date.
