THE following cases were heard at Newton Aycliffe and Peterlee Magistrates’ Courts in the last week.

ISACC FARMER, 20, of Eldon Lane, Bishop Auckland, was fined £50 after he broke a community order made by Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court.

MICHAEL PEMBERTON, 35, of Yewtree Avenue, Sunderland, drove a Volvo whilst over the speed limit. He was fined £40 and given three penalty points.

MATTHEW LEE CHAPMAN, 27, of Corn Close, Barnard Castle, destroyed plant pots under the value of £50 belonging to Morrison’s supermarket. He was fined.

JACK PIKE, 30, of Harap Road, Fishburn, pleaded guilty after his large bull lurcher injured a woman in January whilst out of control. He was made to pay £2072.50 compensation and given a £100 fee by the Crown Prosecution Service. Pike was also made to adhere to conditions when walking his dog Lenny. He was told he must walk him on a lead when he is in a place the public have access to. The dog must also be muzzled when walked in a public place. Only three dogs must be walked by Pike at the same time in public places.

ADAM RICHARD JOHN DOBSON, 20, of West Lane, Bishop Auckland, pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention on Copeland Road in West Auckland. He was given four penalty points and fined £50. Dobson was also made to pay £30 to fund victim services and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

LUKE TOMAS BIRT, 19, of Fifth Street, Horden, was disqualified from driving for 12 months after he was found guilty of driving whilst under the influence of a controlled drug which exceeded the specified limit. He was fined £120 made to pay £30 to fund victim services and made to pay £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

HARLEY CUNNINGHAM, 18, of Galloway Road, Peterlee, pleaded guilty to driving whilst under the influence of a controlled drug which exceeded the specified limit. He was fined £120, made to pay £32 to fund victim services and made to pay £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

LISA HARRISON, 40, of Poplar Street, Stanley, was found guilty of being drunk and disorderly in a public place. She pleaded guilty and was discharged conditionally for six months. Harrison was also made to pay £21.

MICHAEL BELL, 46, of Otley Terrace, Darlington, was found guilty of stealing timber from the North Yorkshire Timber Company. He was fined £80 and ordered to give £32 to fund victim services.

JOHN IAN PULLIN, 32, of Oxbridge Lane, Stockton, damaged three windows belonging to Durham County Council. He was fined £80 and made to pay £600 compensation.

PETER WINTER, 41, of Redwood flats, Brandon, stole drinks, confectionary and meat, to the value of £6.70 belonging to Sainsbury’s. He was made to pay £1.45 compensation and given a community order which banned him from visiting Sainsbury’s for six months.

LEE JOHNSON, 31, of Thornhill Gardens, Shildon, was convicted of breaching a restraining order. The defendant was given a community order for alcohol treatment. He was also made to pay £90 to fund victim services and made to pay £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

ADAM WHITE, 32, of no fixed address, was committed to prison for six weeks after breaking a restraining order. He was also convicted of damaging a Smart Car. White was made to pay £250 compensation.

JOHN GEORGE MIDDLETON, 25, of Ryton Crescent, Seaham, beat a police officer while he was acting in the exercise of his duty. He was committed to prison for four weeks and made to pay £100 compensation.

MARK DEREK DUNNINGHAM, 52, of Stutfield Burn, Rookhope, was disqualified from holding or obtaining a license for 19 months after he was caught driving a Range Rover without insurance. He was also fined £417, ordered to pay £41 to fund victim services and made to pay £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

ANTHONY WILLIAM FITZGERALD, 24, of Elmfield Place, Newton Aycliffe, drove a car whilst under the influence of a controlled drug which exceeded the specified limit. He was disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 18 months. Fitzgerland was also ordered to pay £32 to fund victim services, fined £300 and made to pay £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

ASHLEY SCOTT GRAY, 27, of Pine Tree Crescent, Shildon, was disqualified for holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months after she drove whilst under the influence of a controlled drug which exceeded the specified limit. Gray was fined £370, made to pay £37 to fund victim services and ordered to pay £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

JAMES LUKE MCSTRAVICK, 22, of Lismore Drive, Darlington, without lawful excuse, damaged a double glazed window unit. He was discharged conditionally for 12 months and made to pay £200 compensation.

BRETT SCOTT HODGSON, 26, of Bronte Place, Stanley, was sent to prison for four weeks after he assaulted a police officer acting in the exercise of his functions.
