THE following cases were heard at Teesside Magistrates’ Court this week:

YOUSEF KADOUM, 18, of Studley Road, Middlesbrough, admitted to carrying a quantity of cannabis. He was given a 12 month conditional discharge from prison, and ordered to pay a £21 victim surcharge, and £85 court costs.

DARREN RAYMOND CLARKE, 48, of School Street, Easington, County Durham, was disqualified from driving for 12 months after admitting to driving while under the influence of alcohol. He was also order to pay an £80 fine, £32 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

CRAIG IAN MEREDITH, 29, of Park Road, Middlesbrough, was ordered to pay £150.08 after admitting to fraudulently using a debit card which was not his own. He used the card in McDonald’s and two supermarkets. He was fined £60, a £32 victim surcharge, and compensation to the victim of £58.08.

KEITH ROBINSON, 67, of Caithness Road, Hartlepool, admitted to assaulting an emergency worker by beating him. He was given a six month conditional discharge from prison, and ordered to pay £50 compensation.

LEANNE STAPLETON, 39, of Hartington Road, Stockton-on-Tees, was given a community order to attends appointments with a rehabilitation officer after admitting to theft of cheese, razor blades, perfume, and a candle, from various stores in Stockton. She was ordered to pay £157 in compensation.

ANDREW COLIN USHER, 55, of Barbara Mann Court, Hartlepool, admitted to wasting police time after making a false call to the ambulance service. He was given a community order to complete an alcohol rehabilitation course, order to pay a victim surcharge of £90, and court costs of £85.

ANDREW VISHNEVSKIY, 53, of Borough Road, Middlesbrough, admitted to assaulting a woman by beating her. He was given a 12 month conditional discharge from prison, and ordered to pay a £21 victim surcharge and £100 court costs.

MARK ANTHONY WATSON, 30, of Essex Street, Middlesbrough, admitted to having a quantity of Zopiclone, a controlled class-C drug. He was given a six month conditional discharge from prison, and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £21 and court costs of £45.

MARTIN ROBERT FRENCH, 31, of no fixed address, was found guilty of trespassing in a closed premises. He was fined £85 with a £32 victim surcharge.

KHALID HUSSAIN, 52, of Durham Road, Stockton-on-Tees, admitted to speeding in excess of 70mph on the A1 at Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire. He also failed to give information. He was fined £40, with a £30 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. His license has been endorsed with three penalty points.

XUAN QIN, 43, of Drake Close, Marske-by-the-Sea, admitted to breaching food hygiene regulations at Guli Restaurant on Victoria Road, Middlesbrough, and was fined £2,665. He was found to have served food unfit for human consumption, failed to control pests, keep the premises clean, a to keep equipment disinfected and clean. He was fined £461 each for fives charges, £230 victim surcharge, and £130 costs. The total fine was £2,665.

STEPHEN ALLENDEN, 58, of Carburt Road, Stockton-on-Tees, admitted to drink driving and with no insurance. He was fined £80, with a £32 victim surcharge, and £85 court costs. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months.

JASON PAUL COOK, 41, of Wrensfield Road, Stockton-on-Tees, admitted to taken a stolen gold chain to the value of £500 to Cash Converters for his own gain. He was ordered to repay the £500 and a community order was made to attend appointments with a rehabilitation officer.

ROSS DAVID DRURY, 26, of High Street, Redcar, admitted to stealing alcohol, paint stripper and perfume from supermarkets in the town. He was ordered to comply with a drug rehabilitation order, and to pay compensation of £290.

IAN GALLGHER, 41, of Rectory Way, Seaton Carew, Hartlepool, was disqualified from driving for 12 months after admitting to drink driving. He was fined £280, with a £32 victim surcharge, and £85 court costs.

KYLE SMALL, 26, of Roxby Close, Stockton-on-Tees, admitted to having cannabis in his possession. He was given a conditional discharge from prison for 12 months, and ordered to pay a £21 victim surcharge and £85 court costs.

ANTHONY STORM, 47, of Winterbottom Avenue, Hartlepool, admitted to driving while under the influence of cocaine. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months, and ordered to pay a £46 fine, £32 victim surcharge, and £85 court costs.

NATHAN GEARY, 28, of Stephen Street, Hartlepool, admitted to assaulting two police officers while they were on duty. He was ordered to carry out 40 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months, and pay £150 compensation.

MATTHEW ANDREW NIXON, 35, of Wrensfield Road, Stockton-on-Tees, was proven in his absence to have assaulted a woman by beating her. He was ordered to attend a 'building better relationships' programme, pay compensation of £150, a £90 victim surcharge, and £660 in court costs. He was also fined £40 for failing to attend court.

MARK SMITH, 42, of Oakdene Road, Fishburn, Stockton-on-Tees, admitted to drink driving. He was fined £120, with a £90 victim surcharge and £85 court costs. He was disqualified for 32 months due to the amount of alcohol consumed.
