A PARLIAMENTARY candidate was visited by a special guest during her canvassing campaign.

Conservative candidate for Bishop Auckland, Dehenna Davison, was joined by Prime Minister, Boris Johnson's partner, Carrie Symonds, this week during her campaign.

The pair's visits included a stop at The Eden Arms, at Rushyford, near Newton Aycliffe and the Fox Cub, in Spennymoor, to try and sway voters.

In a post on Facebook, Davison said: "It has been a busy day on the doors in Barnard Castle. My amazing team was joined by some guest stars – Rishi Sunak, Guy Opperman, Carrie Symonds, and Dilyn the dog.

"Thank you to everyone who chatted and pledged your support, and to the fab staff at the Cricketers who looked after us."

In the upcoming election the candidate will go up against, Nick Brown, of the Brexit Party, Ray Georgeson, of the Liberal Democrats and Helen Goodman, of the Labour Party.
