A WOMAN has been rushed to hospital after she was hit by a car in Darlington town centre this afternoon.
Police and an ambulance were called to Tubwell Row following the accident, which happened outside a tattoo shop at about 2.45pm.
A spokesman for the North East Ambulance Service said: "We sent an ambulance to a road traffic collision after being called at 2.50pm.
"A woman suffered leg and pelvic injuries and was taken to Accident and Emergency at James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough."
A spokesman for Durham Constabulary said the only details available were that a pedestrian had been involved in a collision with a car.
