The following cases were among those heard by County Durham and Darlington magistrates sitting at Newton Aycliffe in the last week.

JAMIE MARIE BARTLETT, 41, of Thomas Street, Shildon, was caught drug-driving on the A167. She was ordered to pay £235 in court fines and charges and disqualified from driving for 12-months.

DAVID EDWARD FORREST, 39, of Wicklow Street, Middlesbrough was drunk and disorderly at Darlington railway station and was ordered to pay £299 in court fines and charges.

WAYNE HUNTER, 41, of Coronation Avenue, Shildon, broke the terms of a restraining order and breached a suspended sentence imposed for stalking, battery and assaulting an emergency services worker. The sentence was not activated due to his willingness to work with the probation service. A supervision period of 24-months was imposed, with alcohol treatment requirements along with court charges of £175.

JESSICA MCGUCKIN, 20, of Arisaig, Chester le Street, was caught drink driving. She was banned from driving for 12-months and ordered to pay £417 in court fines and charges.

BRETT NORTHEY, 28, The Fells, Chester le Street, stole a steam mop worth £50 from Boyes. He was ordered to pay £155 in court fines and charges.

PAUL ANTHONY REED, 46, of Front Street, Sacriston, stole £18 worth of Strongbow Dark Fruits cider from Tesco and meat worth £140 from the Co-op . He was ordered to pay £340 in court fines and charges.

SARA SMITH, 29, of Prospect Terrace, Chester le Street, deposited household waste and dismantled furniture on the street. She was ordered to pay £295 in court fines and charges.

KAMIL ATAR, 55, of Northgate, Darlington, was caught driving without a licence or insurance and while over the drink drive limit. He was jailed for 12-weeks due to his record of previous offending and disregard for court orders. He was also ordered to pay £207 in court fines and charges.

LEE KIRKBRIDE, 34, of Ash Grove, Shildon, assaulted a police officer and was given a conditional discharge along with £156 to pay in court fines and charges.

GAVIN JAMES SMITH, 27, of Arkle Crescent, Darlington, drove while disqualified and without insurance. Six points were added to his licence along with £237 to pay in court fines and charges.

VICKY TALLENTIRE, 47, of Tudhoe Moor, Spennymoor was drove without due care and attention. When passing a parked vehicle on Works Road in Spennymoor she crashed head-on into another car. Her driving licence was endorsed with five points along with £197 in court fines and charges.

LEE ERNEST WALLING, 32, of Cheltenham Court, St Helen Auckland, used threatening, abusive or insulting words in Barnard Castle. He was ordered to pay £330 in court fines and charges.

GARY ANDREW BOWMER, 40, of Dunning Road, Ferryhill, admitted to assault and theft of tablets. He was given a six month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £85 court costs and a £21 victim surcharge.

JAMES WILLIAM THOMAS HAUXWELL, 20, of Raby Moor, Cockfield, Bishop Auckland, admitted to trespassing, theft, assault of a man and a police officer, and causing criminal damage to the value of £200 at Esso Garage. He was given a community order of eight weeks with an electronic tag, and ordered to pay compensation of £500.

KEEGAN JAMES HOGG, 22, of Dilks Street, Bishop Auckland, admitted to assaulting a police officer verbally and physically, and to criminal damage. He was given a 12 week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months. He was ordered to pay £50 compensation, victim surcharge of £90, and £85 court costs.

JAYNE OXLEY, 53, of Brignall Moor Crescent, Darlington, admitted to benefit fraud. She was given a community order of 80 hours unpaid work over the next 12 months, and £85 court fines.

DAMON SIMPSON, 29, of West Terrace, Billy Row, Crook, admitted to driving while under the influence of drugs. He was disqualified from driving for 12 months, fined £140, with a £30 victim surcharge, and £85 court costs.

JAMES EDWARD STOTT, 38, of Middleton St George, Darlington, admitted to assault, causing actual bodily harm. He was ordered to undertake alcohol dependency treatment, and given a six week curfew with electronic tag. He was ordered to pay £200 compensation, a £90 victim surcharge, and £85 court costs.

SCOTT STEPHEN WRIGHT, 33, of Flamingo Close, Darlington, admitted to taking a car without consent from the owner, and driving without insurance and while disqualified from holding a licence. Due to frequent offending, he was sent to prison for 20 weeks, and ordered to pay £122 victim surcharge. He was disqualified from driving for three years and two months.

JEFFREY KHAN, 49, of Coronation Avenue, Peterlee, used threatening, abusive or insulting words towards two women in Durham and was ordered to pay £230 in court fines and charges.

ANNE MARINER, 51, of Auckland Terrace, Shildon, was drunk and disorderly on Church Row in Darlington and was ordered to pay £230 in court fines and charges. She also sent an electronic message to cause annoyance, breached a conditional discharge and failed to surrender to custody at court. A community order was imposed with a rehabilitation requirement and she was also ordered to pay £525 in court fines and charges.
