THE following cases were among those heard in the last week by Cleveland magistrates sitting at Teesside.

MICHAEL BEATTIE, 46, of Maple Street, Middlesbrough, was on a notification order under the Sexual Offences Act and failed to notify within three days his address at a police station. He was jailed for 22-weeks due to his disregard for court orders, having been recently released from custody for similar offences and for his record of previous offending. He was also told to pay £207 in court costs and charges.

ALAN JOHN CHARLES BELL, 43, of Bridge Road, Stockton, stole sunglasses from a woman and was given a three-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay a £21 victim surcharge.

JORDAN HEYS, 25, of Carnagill Road, Catterick, assaulted a police officer and another man in Stockton. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £156 in court costs and charges.

GAVIN SIMON STEWART, 42, of Bruntoft Avenue, Hartlepool, assaulted a plain-clothes police officer. He told to pay £287 in compensation, court costs and charges.

ALEX ANDERSON, 44, of Colenso Street, Hartlepool, was caught drink driving on Elwick Road in Hartlepool and failed to stop after hitting another car. He was given a community order with rehabilitation requirements including 100-hours unpaid work over 12-months. He was also disqualified from driving for 24-months, told to pay £175 in court costs and charges.

KAI BEATTIE, 21, of Woodley Grove, Ormesby, was caught driving on Truck Road with cocaine in his blood. He was disqualified from driving for 12-months and told to pay £440 in court fines and charges.

KYE KENNEDY, 18, of Norton Road, Stockton-on-Tees, damaged property belonging to SSL. He was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £150 compensation.

GRAEME WALLACE, 36, of Kilwick Street, Hartlepool, was caught drink driving on Kilwick Street and without insurance. He was disqualified from driving for 17-months and told to pay £237 in court costs and charges.

PIEGE LENDEN, 33, of Lowther Drive, Darlington, was found guilty of drink driving in Darlington. He was disqualified from driving for 20-months and told to pay £2,190 in court fines and charges.

NASER AHMED, 30, of Green Lane, Middlesbrough, was caught drink driving on the A66 and failed to stop when requested by a police officer. He was disqualified from driving for 12-months and told to pay £315 in court costs and charges.

DENIM JAMES MURPHY, 24, of Lime Crescent, Hartlepool was drunk and disorderly on Avenue Road in Hartlepool and was ordered to pay £197 in court costs and charges.

LUKE GLEESON, 32, of Liverton Parade, Hartlepool, sent an electronic message which he knew to be false with the intention of causing annoyance, inconvenience or anxiety. He was jailed for two-weeks due to the disruption caused as calls were made to the emergency services. He was also told to pay £122 in court costs and charges.

NEIL STUART BUCK, 43, of Mulgrave Road, Hartlepool received a Nissan Pulsar worth £7,700, knowing or believing it to be stolen. He was given a community order with a rehabilitation requirement including 100-hours unpaid work within the next 12-months. He was also ordered to pay an £85 victim surcharge.

THE following cases were among those heard recently by North Yorkshire magistrates sitting at Harrogate.

MAX GREENWOOD, 18, Hookstone Chase, Harrogate, stole a Macbook and mobile phones worth £3,708 from Currys. He was given a community order with rehabilitation requirements including 100-hours unpaid work over 12-months. He was also told to pay £3,883.96 in compensation and court charges.

DANIELLE RACHEL VICTORIA HARDING, 47, of St Marygate, Ripon, jointly stole £237.40 worth of alcohol from Booths. She was given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £105 in court costs and charges.

NIGEL DARREN JOWETT, 51, of Grosvenor Road, Harrogate, ill-treated or wilfully neglected a person whom he believed lacked mental capacity. He was given a community order with rehabilitation requirement and and told to pay £270 in court fines and charges.

KIM LORRAINE STATHAM, 56, of Howe Village, North Yorkshire, stole £1574.45 from the Air Cadet Force in Ripon. She was given a community order with rehabilitation requirements including 300-hours unpaid work over 12-months. She was also told to pay £1,744.45 in compensation and court charges.

JAMES ANTHONY SHAW, 44, of Knaresborough Road, Harrogate, used threatening or abusive words in public and breached a conditional discharge imposed for previous offences of criminal damage. He was told to pay £175 in court costs and charges.

JOHN BIRKHILL-ROBSHAW, 31, of Swinton Court, Harrogate, was caught exceeding the 30mph speed limit by 5mph on the A167 at Topcliffe. His driving licence was endorsed with three points and he was told to pay £166 in court costs and charges.
