A MAN has been taken to hospital after becoming trapped following a crash in Stockton.

Police, fire and ambulance services were called to the scene at around 7.30am this morning, November 6, after reports of a vehicle colliding with a tree between Long Newton Lane and Urlay Nook Road.

The road was closed in both directions while the driver of the vehicle was cut free.

He was taken to James Cook University Hospital with leg injuries.

A spokesperson from Cleveland Police said: "A collision happened on Urlay Nook Rd at 7:23am.

"A Fiat Panda has left the road and collided with a tree.

"Male driver was extracted from the vehicle and has been taken to James Cook Hospital with leg injuries."
