FLOODING is causing delays in parts of the region.
The A181 is blocked between the B1198 and A688 near Cassop, east of Durham, following an accident involving two vehicles and flooding due to a blocked drain.
There is said to congestion to B6291 turn-off for Cassop, down Silent Bank.
Drivers are advised to take care in other areas which have seen localised flooding.
The A68 between B6278 and Staley turn-off, at Kiln Pit Hill, is down to a single lane and part of Blanchland is said to be just passable due to flooding on Bale Hill around River Derwent.
The road between Ushaw Moor and New Brancepeth is also said to be flooded but currently passable with care.
In Durham, the River Wear has burst its banks, flooding the riverside footpath on the Pelaw Leazes side of the Racecourse.
