A MAN wanted by police on suspicion of a string of thefts in the Durham area last week has been found.
Durham police issued an appeal at the weekend to find Michael Collier in connection with alleged shoplifting offences, purse dips, burglaries and a robbery.
Last night, a spokesperson for the force said the 40-year-old had been found and taken into custody.
The Durham police spokesperson said: “Wanted man Michael Collier has been located in the Chester-le-Street area and is now in police custody.
“Thank you to everyone who shared our appeal.”
