JASON HARDY, 46, of Calvert Terrace, Murton, pleaded guilty to assault by beating a woman. He was committed to prison for 12 weeks which was suspended for 12 months. He was also made to pay a £122 surcharge to fund victim services, made to £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

SHARN ADIE BLAREAU, 38, of Albery Place, Darlington, was up in court after stealing five joints of beef from Asda. She was given a community order by the court which involved a curfew requirement monitored by an electronic tag.

NEALE JOHN FENWICK, 35, of Church Street, Peterlee, was found guilty by the court of stealing a charity box to the value of £550 from a shopping centre. A community order was made against the defendant by magistrates.

AARON ANTHONY DRUMMOND, 20, of Whitby Way, Darlington, pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle while disqualified from holding or obtaining a license. He was committed to prison for 16 weeks. He was made to pay a surcharge to fund victim services and given a Crown Prosecution Service fee.

SCOTT JAMES HUMPHREYS, 33, Vimy Lines, Catterick Garrison was found guilty of being drunk and disorderly. He was fined £84, made to pay £32 to fund victim services and forced to pay £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

TAYLOR ABEL, 19, of Hewitson Road, Darlington, was disqualified from driving or holding a licence for 12 months after he was caught driving a car while under the influence of cocaine. He was also fined £210, made to pay a surcharge to fund victim services and forced to pay £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

ADAM RICHARD JOHN DOBSON, 20, West Lane, Bishop Auckland, was found guilty of possessing a quantity of cocaine. The cocaine was confiscated, and he was fined £120 and made to pay a fee to fund victim services of £32 and £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.

SIAN ADIE BLAREAU, 38 of Albery Place, Darlington, indicated a plea of guilt after stealing two bottles of Martini, a bottle of Jack Daniels, a bottle of Bacardi and a bottle of Red Square Vodka. She was given a community order by the magistrates which involved a curfew requirement monitored by an electronic tag.

KEIRAN ANTHONY HOGG, 18, of St Andrew’s Road, Bishop Auckland, received a conditional discharge after pleading guilty to two charges of assault committed on September 28. He will have to pay £50 compensation to the victim, a £16 surcharge and £85 in costs to Crown Prosecution Service.

DEAN MAITCHELL, 40, of Shearwater Avenue, Darlington, was made the subject of a community order after he admitted drink-driving. Officers stopped him in a Ford Transit in Darlington on May 15 and found he was more than four times over legal limit. He had 145 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The limit is 35. He was banned from driving for six months, must comply with an alcohol treatment requirement of his order as directed by probation for six months, pay £500 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a surcharge of £85.

KEVIN DOBSON, 37, of Union Street, Seaham, has been banned from driving for 16 months after he admitted drink-driving. He was more than four-and-a-half times over the limit when he was stopped on June 1 on the B1285. A breath test reading revealed he had 159 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The limit is 35. He was also fined £250, pay £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a surcharge of £30.

ELLIOTT TEASDALE, 21, of Fourth Street, Pont Bungalows, Consett, has been banned from driving for 12 months after he was stopped with cannabis in his system. He was stopped by police on the A693 at Consett in a VW Passat on April 3. He will also have to pay £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.

MOHAMMED SHAJHAN ISLAM, 42, St George’s Hall, Elmfield Street, Darlington, has been made the subject of a community order after he admitted theft. Magistrates heard he stole timber from belonging to north Yorkshire Timber Company on July 16. He was fined £50 and must pay a surcharge of £90. Magistrates were told the offence was committed while he was the subject of a conditional discharge imposed for theft of six bottles of vodka from Morrisons in Darlington on March 8.

MICHAEL CORRIGAN, 29, of Hessewelle Crescent, Haswell, Durham, has been banned from driving for 12 months after he was stopped with cannabis in his system. He was stopped by police at Sherburn House on the A181 in a VW Touran on June 19. He pleaded guilty to the charge in court on October 25. He will also have to pay £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service, a victim surcharge of £32 and was fined £120.

JAMES MARK FITZSIMONS, 25, of Glentower Grove, Hartlepool, has been banned from driving for 12 months after he was stopped with cannabis in his system. He was stopped by police on the A1086 Sunderland Road in a VW Golf on July 9. He pleaded guilty to the charge in court on October 25. He must pay £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service, a victim surcharge of £32 and was fined £120.
