POLICE have cordoned off an area of Spennymoor following the discovery of a woman's body.
Durham Police said: "Officers were called shortly before 9.45am this morning (October 30) to the pathway between Ivy Close and Spennymoor bypass following concerns for the welfare of a woman.
"Paramedics also attended but sadly the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
"There are believed to be no suspicious circumstances and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
