AUCKLAND Castle will reopen to the public with a community open day on Saturday, November 2, from 10.30am to 4pm, followed the next day, Sunday, November 3, by general admission.

It will open Wednesday to Sunday, 10am to 4pm.

Entry will be £10 per adult, £8 for concessions and £3 for under 16s which includes admission to the Bishop Trevor Gallery. An Auckland Pass– priced £12.50 per adults, £10.50 concessions, £3 per child and £28 for a family or two adult and three children. It will cover entry throughout the year to the castle and gallery along with The Auckland Project's Mining Art Gallery and Auckland Tower visitor centre, in Bishop Auckland Market Place.

Passes bought now will be valid until January 2021.

The Auckland Project's work does not stop with the opening of its centrepiece– Auckland Castle.

Its Spanish Gallery, Faith Museum and the restored 17th century Walled Garden and restaurant will all follow.

 

 

And alongside these visitor attractions, it runs community events, works with businesses, schools and has an apprenticeship scheme and sister charity Eleven Arches continues to produce its open-air historical night show Kyren– an epic tale of England each summer.
