GRIEVING family members have been left distressed after burglars raided the home of a woman who died earlier this year.
Police said a burglary was reported at a property on Seventh Street, Horden, near Peterlee, which happened overnight between Tuesday October 8 and October 9.
In a Facebook post, Peterlee Police said: “The family who own this property are very distressed by the burglary as this was the home address of a woman who died at the address a couple of months ago.
“This female had been a local lady who was well known and those responsible must have known the circumstances and that the house was currently unoccupied due to the tragic circumstances.”
Anyone with information should contact contact PC 2553 Jayne Marshall at Peterlee CID on 0191 375 2714 or Durham Police on 101.
