The 62-year-old, of Croft Avenue, Wakefield appeared before Teesside Crown Court via a video link to Durham Prison, during a short hearing yesterday.
The court heard the defendant plead guilty to attempting to incite a teenage girl into sexual activity; contacting a teenage girl to meet her for sexual activity; making 414 category A indecent images of children – the most serious category; making 241 category B indecent images of children; making 1,212 category C indecent images of children; distributing five category A images; distributing five category B images; distributing five category C images; attempt to arrange a girl for sexual activity; and possession of six category C indecent images of children.
The defendant pleaded guilty to all charges and Judge Howard Crowson requested a pre-sentence report to be carried out ahead of a further hearing on November 29.
Pybus was remanded in custody until that date.
