ARE you dreaming of a white Christmas? Kielder Forest can deliver one when the woods get a special North Pole-style makeover later this year.

Families are being invited to step into Kielder Winter Wonderland and embark on a magical Christmas adventure like no other. With an entire day packed full of activities, the unique experience is sure to delight young and old alike.

Once visitors set foot inside the enchanted forest on their own special fairytale adventure, they will be treated to a magical day of festive fun.

Make your own wooden toy to take home, with the master crafts-elves in the Elves’ Workshop, and when you’re finished, the mischievous elves might reveal the secret location of Father Christmas’s cabin!

Young explorers can set off through the forest in search of the cabin, with plenty of special Christmas encounters along the way. If they look carefully, they might just find their way to Father Christmas himself…

Mrs Christmas has also been sighted in the forest. She’s been hard at work with her team of elves, and is looking forward to escorting visitors through the woods to her forest kitchen for fun and games.

Other attractions include animal encounters with Kielder’s resident reindeer herd – who are training hard in the forest before the big Christmas Eve flight – and Snowy Owl and friends at Kielder Water Birds of Prey Centre.

Relax and take in a dramatic show at the Christmas Theatre, performed by professional actors, and visit Mr and Mrs Beaver in their woodland home for a song and dance.

If you’re in the mood for some outdoor excitement, why not try snow tubing? This safe winter sport is a bit like sledging, only you’re sliding down the slope in a giant donut-shaped tube!

A special relaxed day, designed for autistic people and those with additional needs will also be held on Sunday, November 17. The North East Autism Society has advised how to make the experience more comfortable for autistic people, and has provided extra training to Wonderland staff ahead of the event.

Special quiet break-out areas will be placed throughout the event, and lighting and volumes will be adjusted. For more information on the relaxed day, click here.

The Kielder Winter Wonderland opens on Saturday, November 16, and runs until Friday, Monday, December 23. Tickets cost just £39.50 per person – click here to book now!
