A DOG walker was threatened and had foul language hurled at him whilst walking his pet in Newton Aycliffe.

Police investigating the altercation are now appealing for information.

A victim was walking his dog in the area known locally as the balancing pond, close to Cobblers Hall shops, at around 9pm on Friday, October 4 when he was threatened by another man.

The suspect was walking ahead with a Jack Russell type dog when he turned around and shouted and swore at the victim, telling him to keep his dog away from him.

The suspect is described as being white, in his thirties or forties, with short dark hair and was clean shaven. He had a local accent and was wearing dark tracksuit bottoms and a dark hooded top.

Anyone with any information in relation to the incident, or anyone who witnessed the incident, is asked to call Newton Aycliffe Police on 101, quoting incident number 426 of October 4.
