A WOMAN was taken to hospital suffering serious injuries after she was knocked down by a car on Monday night.
A Durham Constabulary said: “An elderly woman suffered serious injuries after colliding with a car on Front Street, Framwellgate Moor, Durham, at about 7.30pm on Monday, September 30.
“The woman, who is in her 80s, is currently being treated in the Royal Victoria Infirmary, in Newcastle. The driver was uninjured."
A spokesperson for the North East Ambulance Service said: "We were called to a road traffic accident involving a car and elderly woman who suffered head injuries. She was taken by ambulance to the University Hospital of North Durham."
The woman was later transferred to the RVI.
Witnesses or anyone with any dash cam footage should contact Durham Police on 101, quoting incident reference 403 of September 30.
