POLICE are appealing for the driver of an alleged fail-to-stop collision to come forward.
On Friday September 20, at around 5.30pm, a collision involving a young child took place on Fairfield Road in Stockton, when the child, his mother and another family member were using the zebra crossing near St Patrick’s Primary School.
It is believed a dark coloured vehicle collided with the child and he was knocked to the ground, sustaining a head injury and grazing to his arm and leg.
He was taken to the University Hospital of North Tees for treatment and discharged later that evening.
A spokesperson from Cleveland Police said: "We are appealing for information as well as asking the driver to come forward.
"Any witnesses or drivers with dashcam footage which could help our inquiries are asked to contact PC Steven Lake of the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit via the 101 number. Please quote Event 162369."
