HARD hat-tours of a new £8.5m office development in the centre of Darlington are taking place next month, for those who may be interested in new office space.

Prospective tenants, as well as interested local business owners, can take a virtual and a hard-hat tour of the new office block, which is right in the centre of town – and they can even take a 'selfie' from the top.

The Feethams House office tour is on Thursday, October 10 at 1pm and is part of Darlington Business Week which runs from October 7-11.

The week offers local businesses the chance to take part in a range of free networking, information and workshop events in venues across the borough.

Located in the Feethams area of Darlington, the office building is being developed by Darlington Borough Council, the Tees Valley Combined Authority (TVCA) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

The tour will be a unique opportunity to see the building mid-construction and a chance to discuss requirements with the letting agents. There will also be the opportunity to take a selfie from the top of the building and enjoy a complimentary packed lunch.

Offering about 30,000 sq ft of office space across five storeys, Feethams House, scheduled for completion in early 2020, will potentially create about 300 new jobs in the professional services, digital and creative fields.

Councillor Heather Scott, Leader of Darlington Borough Council, will make a presentation and also take part in the tour. She said: “This is an ideal chance to find out more about this Grade A office development. It’s in the heart of town yet only minutes from the main East Coast mainline taking full advantage of Darlington’s excellent transport links and town centre shops and facilities.”
