A TELEVISION crew will visit the region over the weekend for the filming of the next up and coming series of Antiques Road Trip on BBC One.

The show, which is nearing it's ten-year anniversary, will film at Elstob & Elstobs's Auctioneers in Bedale, North Yorkshire on Sunday, September 22.

The show is a spin-off of the BBC's Antiques Roadshow, and sees antique experts Steven Moore and Angus Ashworth visiting auctioneers across the UK in classic vintage cars.

In the new series, Moore and Ashworth meander the Scottish borders, moving across to England, collecting valuable items along the way, before they attempt to sell them at the auction house in Bedale.

John Redshaw, series producer on the BBC's Antiques Road Trip, said: "As always, this Antiques Road Trip is jam-packed and full of surprises.

"We're looking forward to travelling to Yorkshire and I know that both experts are determined to make a good showing at Elstob & Elstob’s auction house.

"This is the programme’s twentieth series and its popularity just keeps on growing.

"I think one of its greatest appeals is the people – not just the charismatic experts who entertain with plenty of humour and friendly rivalries – but the many interesting individuals we meet on our journeys.

"That, combined with stunning countryside and gorgeous old cars, makes it a real winner."

The auctions will be open to anyone from the public and will give them the chance to have an exclusive glimpse into how much each of the item's raise, before it is aired in 2020.

David Elstob, a director at Elston & Elstobs's Auctioneers, said: “We are delighted to be featured as one of the auction venues for this much-loved show.

"The ten objects that the team bring in to be sold could be anything from fine china to a piece of vintage clothing but this is what makes it so exciting and we look forward to helping Angus and Steven achieve the best possible prices.”

Towards the end of August, the show's presenter David Harper joined guests at St T's Superstore in Darlington.

The superstore had been transformed into a festival of collectables, while more than £1,000 was raised for St Teresa's Hospice.

The auction begins at 10am and is part of the two-day event beginning on Saturday, September 21 and finishing on Sunday, September 22.

But filming for the BBC One show will only take place on Sunday.
