RAMSDENS Jewellers, on Front Street, in Chester-le-Street, was targeted by burglars who stole a large amount of jewellery in the early hours of Tuesday, September 3.
It is believed the suspect entered the building through the roof and removed a large quantity of jewellery before making off.
A spokesperson from Durham Police said: "Police are appealing for information following a burglary at Ramsdens Jewellers in Chester-le-Street.
"The incident occurred shortly after 3am on Tuesday (September 3) at the premises on Front Street."
Police are appealing for anyone who has information in relation to the offence or stolen property to contact Durham Police by phoning 101 quoting incident DHM-03092019-0032 or, if you wish to remain anonymous, call Crimestoppers on 0800-555111.
