POP band McFly has announced it will be performing in Newcastle as part of its eleven-date come-back tour of the UK.

The band, which has recently released Lost Songs, featuring music from their unreleased sixth album, will be playing in the city’s Utilita Arena in April as part of its first arena tour in almost ten years.

Tickets for the show on April 27 go on sale at 9am on Friday.

Tom, Danny, Dougie and Harry will be playing at the O2 in November and have just announced the eleven date tour.

The band, which has had seven UK number ones and five top-ten albums, said: “The past week it has been incredible to feel so much support for our band after being away for so long. Selling out the O2 so fast has proved, once again, that we have the best fans in the world and we want to play to as many of you as possible.

“So we are very excited to announce our first arena tour in almost 10 years!”

Since the last time the quartet played, the members have been pursuing other avenues, which has seen Tom becoming a children’s author, Danny appearing as a judge on The Voice Kids, Dougie doing some acting work, joining alternative rock band INK and becoming an environmental campaigner and Strictly winner Harry working in the West End.

During their concert in Newcastle they will be playing music from Lost Songs, as well as some of their best-known hits, including All About You, Obviously, Star Girl, One for the Radio and Shine a Light.

Tickets will go on sale 9.00am Friday 20th September and are available online, from the booking hotline number 0844 493 6666 or from 11.00am in person from the Utilita Arena Box Office Tickets. To book accessible seating, please call the Accessible Hotline on 0800 988 4440.
