HUNDREDS of job opportunities will be on offer at an annual Darlington's annual Jobs and Careers Fair next month.

The free event takes place in the Dolphin Centre on Thursday, October 10.

People of all ages and experience will be given the chance to find out what’s on offer in Darlington and beyond in terms of employment, training and business start-up support, all under one roof.

The 28 businesses already signed up to this year's event, and which have vacancies, include Student Loans Company, Darlington Borough Council, Vale of Mowbray, Aldi, Vue Cinemas, Arriva, Rockliffe Hall, Mowden Park and others.

Roles are on offer across a range of sectors, levels and contract types including full and part time, entry level and management positions.

Advice and support organisations already signed up include: Darlington College, Job Centre Plus, National Careers Service, Enterprise Made Simple, which offers self-employment support and advice, Morrison Trust, which provides CV, interview skills and support, Routes to Work, Darlington Citizens Advice and Learning & Skills.

The event follows on from the success of last year’s Fair which saw more than 750 people attend, some of whom were recruited on the day.

Councillor Alan Marshall, Darlington Borough Council’s cabinet member for Economy and Regeneration, said: “Finding work is not always easy. This event gives people the chance to meet recruiters face to face to discuss what’s on offer and what they can offer an employer.

“Whether you’re yet to take a first step on your career ladder or looking for a change of direction, or want extra training and qualifications; this event will have something for you. Make a date in your diary and drop in.”
