A 21-YEAR-old man from the region arrested last week on suspicion of terror offences has appeared in court in London.
Anwar Driouich, of The Avenue in Middlesbrough, appeared before magistrates in Westminster this morning, Saturday, charged with seven counts of possessing a document or record likely to be useful to a person preparing or committing an act of terrorism, contrary to Section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
He is also charged with being in possession of an explosive substance.
He was charged with the offences by the Counter Terrorism North East Unit.
The investigation is being led by Counter Terrorism Policing North East supported by Cleveland Police and Counter Terrorism Command.
