FIREFIGHTERS are appealing for information about a blaze of waste tyres at an industrial estate in County Durham.

The fire happened on the Mainsforth Industrial Estate, in Ferryhill, on Saturday, August 24.

On-call firefighters from Spennymoor attended the scene, where they found a pile of waste tyres which were alight.

County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service said the cause of the fire is unknown.

The service is appealing for anyone who has any information in relation to the incident to get in touch.
