A PENSIONER has suffered a broken shoulder after being pushed over by a man following a row in Saltburn's Valley Gardens.

The 70-year-old was allegedly attacked between 11.20am and 11.40am on Sunday, August 11.

The woman and her 72-year-old husband were walking on the path towards Cat Nab car park, with the miniature railway on their right.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: "It’s alleged that words were exchanged with another couple, a man in his 50s and a woman in her 40s which then led to the man in his 50s pushing the older couple to the ground where the victim sustained her injury.

"The man in his 50s has been described as white, around 6ft tall, with grey/white thinning hair. He was wearing a red top and shorts, possibly grey or pale in colour. The man was walking with a plastic tennis ball thrower for his dog – a description of the dog is not available.

"The woman in her 40s is described as white, around 5ft 4ins tall and wearing jeans and a jumper.
