THE search is on for dog lovers to come forward and give a new home to two pairs of inseparable pooches.

Dogs Trust Darlington are calling on potential dog owners who are willing to give double the love, to pets in need of being rehomed together.

The first pair are sisters Annie and Oakley, who rely on each other and draw confidence from one another. The three-year-old Jack Russell Terriers are looking for a patient family, who will give them time to adjust to their new home environment.

While Chihuahuas Elvis and Spencer, pictured below, are currently staying with foster carers so have been getting lots of valuable training and socialisation. They can be a little shy at first but warm to people quickly and love to snuggle up for a snooze with their favourite humans.

The Northern Echo:

Sue Embleton, Rehoming Centre Manager at Dogs Trust Darlington, said: “We desperately want these dogs to remain together as their bond is so strong, so we’re calling on potential owners to come and meet them – especially dog lovers who understand the reward of having two canine companions.

“These gorgeous pairs are a joy to watch as they stick by each other’s side, no matter what; whether they are eating, walking or playing; and even going to bed at the same time. The rewards of keeping them together will definitely make adopting two dogs worthwhile.”
