FIREFIGHTERS from Seaham tackled a fire involving bales of hay in the Murton area today.
A spokesperson for the County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service said firefighters were alerted to the blaze in the Station Estate North area of Murton at lunchtime on Tuesday.
A number of bales of hay were on fire. Crews used water and wildfire equipment to extinguish the fire, the cause of which is unknown.
