THERE was a distinct smell of petrol and nostalgia in Darlington town centre as a popular vintage car show was held in the town's market square.
The Darlington Vintage Vehicle Rally took advantage of the exceptionally-good weather, as car enthusiasts and curious visitors nosed around a vast selection of cars from Britain's yesteryear.
A generous collection of vintage cars, an old period fire-engine, a single and a double-decker bus, added a splash of interest to passersby as the vintage vehicles parked up for the day, outside the Dolphin Centre and towards the rear of Darlington's Covered Indoor Market.
