Traffic between Shotton and Wingate has been affected by a gas leak
A GAS leak has led to the closure of a road to allow engineers to assess and deal with the incident.
The leak on the B1280 Salters Lane, at Shotton Colliery, near Peterlee, was first reported at around 6.30am this morning.
The road has been closed both ways between the B1279 and Bruce Glasier Terrace which is affecting traffic between Shotton and Wingate.
Engineers are said to be at the scene to asses the situation.
