POWER tools and mountain bikes have been stolen a spate of overnight garage break-ins in Bishop Auckland.
Three break-ins have been reported from garages in Bollihope Grove and nearby Harthope Grove.
Thieves struck overnight between Wednesday and Thursday at a garage block in Harthope Grove, stealing two mountain bokes.
There was also another burglary at Bollihope Grove, where thieves forced their way into a garage and took power tools.
The third break-in happened at a garage block in Bollihope Grove, when a man's silver mountain bike was taken.
A woman's Vertigo mountain bike, which had not been stolen from the garage, was found abandoned at the scene.
Police are appealing for witnesses and are also trying to find the owners of the abandoned mountain bike, which is blue.
A police spokesperson said: "The blue bike was found abandoned at the scene of one of the burglaries this morning and police are keen to know where it came from.
"If anyone has any information about the burglaries or the origin of the abandoned bike, they are asked to call Bishop Auckland CID on 101 quoting incident number 0047 of August 28."
