THE elderly driver of a Ford KA has died after crashing with a HGV.
The collision happened at around 10.15am on Thursday, August 15 August on the A66 westbound exiting the roundabout from Cargo Fleet towards Middlesbrough town centre.
The 74-year-old male driver of the Ford KA was taken to hospital for observation, where police say his condition sadly deteriorated and he passed away on Tuesday, August 20.
A spokesman for Cleveland and Durham Roads Policing Unit said: "Any witnesses to the collision, anyone who may have dash cam footage or any local businesses which may have CCTV which could assist the investigation is asked to contact PC Spencer Kindon from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit on the non-emergency number 101, quoting event number 139898."
