WITNESSES to a dangerous driving incident which saw a van run over a teenager's foot and ankle are being sought by police.
The white flatbed van was driving along Penhill Close, in Ouston, near Chester-Le-Street, before leaving the road, continuing along a public footpath through the park and veering off into the grass.
It then hit a 14-year-old boy, running over his left foot and ankle.
A spokesman for Durham Constabulary said: "Police are appealing for witnesses to an incident of dangerous driving in the park behind Ouston Primary School, around 6am on Tuesday, August 19 2019.
"A white flatbed van has left Penhill Close, Ouston, and driven along the pedestrian path through the park, before veering off the path, onto the grass, and colliding with a 14-year-old victim, running over his left foot and ankle.
"The victim sustained non-life threatening injuries and is expected to make a full recovery."
Anyone with any information to help progress the investigation is urged to call 101, quoting incident number DHM-19082019-0191.
