A MAN has been arrested for alleged possession of drugs and a weapon in a town centre.
Police were called to Stockton High Street at around 4.40pm yesterday, August 19, after receiving reports of a man believed to be in possession of suspected stolen items.
Officers from Cleveland Police arrived at the scene following the call and searched a man, aged 46, before seizing a police-style baton and suspected class C drugs.
The man was then arrested on suspicion of possession of a weapon and possession of a class C drug.
A spokesperson from Cleveland Police said the man remains in custody and enquiries are currently ongoing.
