A ROAD in County Durham shut since Tuesday following flooding from nearby land has been reopened.
The B6310 Manor Road at Medomsley, near Consett, had been affected in both directions from the A694 Lintzford Road to the B6310/B6308 roundabout.
Mark Readman, Durham County Council’s highways services manager said: “The flooding on the highway was a consequence of overland flows from nearby private land.
"We have been working in partnership with the landowners to resolve the problem and the flooding has now stopped.
“We have sent a sweeper to clean the area of any debris and temporary two-way traffic signals have been set up whilst repairs to the carriageway are carried out.
"I would like to thank the public for their patience.”
