A GIANT wellington boot arrived at Castle Howard this week to form the centrepiece of the Countryfile Live event.
For the first time since the event's inception in 2016, Countryfile Live is taking place at Castle Howard as well as at its usual base in Blenheim Palace.
Countryside Live is linked to the BBC’s flagship rural affairs programme and aims to showcase the best of rural Britain in a festival atmosphere
Since 2016 it has attracted more than 250,000 people to its regular Blenheim Palace site and organisers are hoping Castle Howard proves just as popular with visitors.
Work has been ongoing for several weeks to set up the site, including the arrival of a five metre high Wellington boot which was put into place by design students from Leeds Beckett University.
The boot will be a striking focal point of the show which features a Village Green zone where festival-goers can relax with a picnic and enjoy some traditional country entertainment, as well as a farmyard area with farming demonstrations and workshops.
The show opens at Castle Howard today, Thursday August 15, and runs until August 18. Ticket details can be found online at
