A MAN has been arrested and a knife has been recovered following an alleged shoplifting offence.
During the early hours of this morning, officers at Cleveland Police arrested a man, 36, who was wanted in connection with a theft from Sainsbury’s store on Westbury Street in Thornaby in July.
During the arrest, police recovered a knife and suspected class B drugs.
The man was arrested on suspicion of theft from a shop, possessing a class B drug and possessing a knife blade/sharp pointed article in a public place.
He currently remains in custody.
