A MAN has been attacked after asking the occupants of two cars why they were blocking a mini-roundabout.

The victim, a man in his 50s, was walking up Newcastle Road, in Chester-le-Street, at the bottom of Pelaw Bank when he spotted two vehicles parked in the middle of a mini-roundabout.

Durham Police said: "The occupants of the vehicles were chatting, whilst blocking the roundabout.

"One of the vehicles was a silver Ford Fiesta, newer shape. The victim has challenged as to why they were stopped there.

"The front passenger has exited the Fiesta, approached the victim, grabbed him by the throat, threw him to the floor, and kicked his back a number of times."

The male is described as white, 5’10”, stocky build, late teens/early 20's, short dark hair with no facial hair, wearing a red t-shirt and light coloured shorts.
