A 61-YEAR-OLD man has died in a crash involving a car-transporter and heavy goods vehicle on the A64.

The man, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the scene in the three-vehicle-crash near Scagglethorpe, between Malton and Rillington, on Thursday.

Police said a grey Hyundai Tucson, a car-transporter vehicle and a heavy goods vehicle had been involved in the crash at around 10.50am.

Two children travelling in the Hyundai Tucson, a boy 10 and girl 9, were air lifted to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

A dash-cam appeal has since been launched to anyone who may have been travelling in the area at the time of the incident.

The family of the 61-year-old man, from the Sheffield area, have been informed.
