POLICE have discovered a cannabis farm containing hundreds of plants at an address in Ferryhill.
On Monday, August 5, Ferryhill Neighbourhood Policing Team found a cannabis growth within an address on Ullswater Road.
Residents raised concerns which led to the neighbourhood policing team entering the address a short while later.
A Vietnamese male was found inside the address, alongside the cannabis farm.
The electricity meter had been bypassed causing risks to people within the address and nearby residents.
A police spokesperson said: "Cultivating cannabis and bypassing the electric meter are both serious offences which could lead to dangerous consequences for residents living in the community.
"Enquiries are currently ongoing. If you have any information which you would like to speak to the team contact Sgt 2178 Newman via 101 or you contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555111."
