A TEENAGER accused of stabbing a man at her home in Darlington will remain in custody after her hearing was delayed.

Kelsie Godfrey was due to make her plea to the attempted murder charge at Teesside Crown Court but the case was adjourned due to technical difficulties.

The 19-year-old appeared at Teesside Crown Court today via a video link from Low Newton Prison wearing a grey jumper and her dark hair tied up in a bun.

Judge Stephen Ashurst told the teenager she will be remanded in custody until her next court appearance on September 4, where she will appear in the dock.

The decision was met with sighs of frustration from Godfrey’s family members and friends in the public gallery.

She is accused of stabbing a 35-year-old man in the chest at her home in Warwick Square, Darlington, in the early hours of July 2.

Police confirmed that the man is recovering from the injury after spending time in hospital.
