A TEENAGE boy has been arrested on suspicion of burglary in Bishop Auckland.

Police in the town carried out warrants at three addresses today following a recent spike in burglaries. 

A 15-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of burglary. 

Detective Sergeant Clare Lambert, from Bishop Auckland CID said: “Residents are reminded to lock their doors and report any suspicious activity to police via 101 or 999 in an emergency.”

During the warrant, police also managed to recover a minibike which appeared to have been stolen.

Anyone who recognises the bike, or knows who it belongs to, is asked to call DS Lambert on 101.
